The City’s Craftswoman follows the Jerusalem municipality’s model maker, Natasha Ostrovsky. The city model serves as a tool for urban planning and development. Ostrovsky’s task is to add new buildings that have been granted building permits by Jerusalem’s planning division but have not yet been built. Ostrovsky is shown creating a miniature model of a future building in a Palestinian neighborhood in East Jerusalem.

The work observes the actualization, implementation, and materialization of Zionism — from imagination to actuality through the aesthetic and bureaucratic actions of the model maker.
